He outlined two main application scenarios: one targeting small commercial and industrial markets, and the other focusing on large industrial demands. For smaller markets, energy storage can increase the consumption ratio of distributed photovoltaic power around noon, enabling a second cycle of charging and discharging to generate additional income. It also facilitates demand management strategies, offering more cost-effective solutions for users.
In the context of large industrial applications, energy storage plays a crucial role in peak shaving and load leveling, supporting high-energy-consuming businesses in adjusting power demand. Dr. Bai emphasized the development of viable revenue estimation methods and the importance of increasing policy engagement to further secure income from energy storage.
